Resilience, Recovery, and Empowerment

welcome to asians in recovery

Asians in Recovery is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering the AAPI community to overcome substance use through mentorship, culturally appropriate education, and access to essential resources.

We are committed to breaking the stigma surrounding substance use and fostering a world where it is met with understanding, dignity, and compassion.

Our aim is to strengthen AAPI individuals and families to foster open conversations, build lasting change, and achieve sustainable recovery.

The Challenge

45%

affected with Asian Flush

Nearly half of Asians have this genetic condition, yet awareness of its dangers—including a significantly increased risk of cancer—remains low.

17%

increase in substance use

During the pandemic, substance misuse rose sharply in the AAPI community, highlighting the urgent need for culturally informed support.

25%

underutilization of support

AAPIs have the lowest help-seeking rate of any racial/ethnic group, due to stigma, language barriers, and a lack of culturally competent care.
